Geoff Merril Reserve Chardonnay 2019 (Coonawarra, McLaren Vale)

The 2019 Geoff Merril Reserve Chardonnay an initial aroma of watermelon and white nectarine with notes of lime and cucumber. French oak characters of cashew nut, fresh cream and toasted sourdough bread follow through. A palate that ticks all the boxes of flavour, mouthfeel, acidity, structure and balance. There is a fruit freshness from Coonawarra that attenuates the rich McLaren Vale mid palate keeping everything tight and well structured. The oak is subtle, toasty and creamy adding depth, complexity and texture while perfectly balanced acidity finishes the wine on a bright, fresh note.
